Patentability restrictions in the biotech field revoked
On June 19, 2026, the Argentine PTO published Resolution 197/2026 in the Official Gazette repealing Resolution 283/2015 issued in 2015 which imposed patentability restrictions in the biotech area.

PTO enhances accelerated patent exam and grant procedure
On May 13, 2026, the PTO published Resolution 142/2026 in the Official Gazette introducing positive amendments to the accelerated patent examination and grant mechanism included in Resolution 056/2016.

PTO increases fees which will be updated monthly

Patentability restrictions in the pharmaceutical field revoked
On March 18, 2026, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Health and the PTO published Joint Resolution 1/2026 in the Official Gazette repealing the Joint Ministerial Resolution 118/2012, 546/2012 and 107/2012 issued in 2012 which imposed severe patentability restrictions in the pharmaceutical area.
